Under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Jennifer Cope, the Cope Center for Autism provides high-quality autism assessments of children up to age twenty-one.
A quality assessment with medical oversight is often the first step in accessing insurance-provided therapy and school services.
Our staff works one-on-one with the children for 60-90 minutes using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) test.
They will play games with the child, gather background information from the parent, and follow scientific protocols to see if the patient meets the criteria for autism.
Within one week, parents will receive a one-page report with the official diagnosis. The report can be used to access therapy from private insurance, from Early Intervention, or the school district.
Patients will be referred for external hearing evaluations, EEG, genetic testing, and other diagnostics as necessary.
Follow-up visits will be scheduled, if necessary.
