Parents Inc. is a non-profit family strengthening agency whose purpose is to protect children by strengthening families. We provide free Circle of Parents® community-based self-help support groups for parents.
In addition, Parents Inc. provides a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week Helpline for parents, elders, caregivers, teens, and children to access information and referrals to community agencies in their area, a safe, non-judgmental place to talk about family issues.
The Parents Inc. Family Helpline 1-800-THE-KIDS (1-800-843-5437) is staffed by volunteers who graciously give their time to be available to parents who need to talk. Volunteers receive experiential training and continuing education provided by Parents Inc. staff. There are two requirements for the job of a Family Helpline Volunteer - a willingness to help children by assisting parents and a caring nature.
Circle of Parents Support Group
Parents who come to support groups count on each other to listen openly, respond honestly, and always act with compassion.
Father Time
Father Time is a Movement by Dads for Dads. We spend time with our children, learning more about them and allowing them to get to know more about us as Fathers and Leaders.
Helpline
Parents Inc. provides a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week Family Helpline for parents, grandparents, teens, professionals, and children to call or text to access information and referrals to community agencies in their area and a safe, non-judgmental place to talk about family issues. This line is answered by a trained, compassionate listener. The purpose of the Family Helpline is to provide help, hope, and support to NJ families. This line serves as both an intervention and prevention measure. Voiance, a language interpreter service, helps us address the needs of non-English callers.
Partners
We work together with local organizations and groups to meet the needs of the community and work towards shared objectives. These partners offer resources, knowledge, and assistance for projects involving education and social services within the community. Establishing strong relationships with our diverse stakeholders can contribute to a more interconnected and robust community.
