Equine Assisted Therapy of NJ

Equine Assisted Therapy of NJ is a Non-Profit 501 c3 Corporation. Our mission is to provide quality therapeutic services with the partnership of horses that impact the body, mind, and spirit. Our goal is to promote positive changes and connections in individuals, families, groups, and the communities in which they live.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
EAP can make a dramatic difference where talk therapy can’t. This is because new neuropathways get formed by creating new views, actions, and skills in the here and now. Horses make this easier by providing an emotionally safe space, instant feedback, and seeking congruence in the participant. This work generally occurs on the ground, though it may involve some mounted work. A licensed professional counselor will create an opportunity to face and resolve issues in a way that has you experience the shift. We provide Individual therapy, Group therapy, and Family Therapy.

Therapeutic Horsemanship
There are many behaviors, thought processes, and leadership skills that can be redirected and learned through building a relationship on the ground and on the back of a horse. We utilize natural horsemanship techniques, with an emphasis on relationship building and the value of effective communication and energy use. In riding, attention is paid to biomechanics, the body-mind connection, and the emotional releases available in movement. This is not your average riding lesson. Therapeutic Riding is for Individuals with a variety of physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities.

Equine Assisted Learning
We provide opportunities for groups and individuals to learn a variety of skills, whether they be skills typically taught in a classroom, social skills, or leadership, through interaction with Horses.
